Located in the center of mainland Southeast Asia, it has a vast ecosystem that includes hilly forest area, northern frontiers, plains and a lot more. Weather in Thailand

Visa and Immigration

Australian Citizens/passport holders can stay in Thailand for 30 days having a passport validity of at least 6 months. They are permitted to stay for 30 days if arriving by air and 15 days if they arrive through the land.

However Sri Lankan citizens will require a tourist visa to go to Thailand, which is mostly for 90 days. 


Health and safety

If you are visiting Thailand then you really need to consider flies over there, as it is much of a tropical area such things will bother you a lot. Mosquito repellents are must-have while visiting this place. 

Though you may get medical treatment of good quality as this place has various public and private medical centers and hospitals that provide exceptional services.It is better to be vaccinated before going to Thailand and carry malaria pills in case you encounter any emergency.


Money and banking

The currency of Thailand is Thai Baht, TBH. If you are visiting Thailand then you need to surely keep its currency with you because your debit or credit cards won’t be working at all places. Though major credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard, JCB etc are readily accepted in upscale merchants, hotels, airlines, restaurants etc.


Clothes and accessories

You surely need to carry clothes for hot weather as it is not really cold in Thailand. The basic rule is to cover your shoulders and knees as people dress up quite modestly at this place. Usually people don’t consider what tourists are wearing but it is more appropriate to dress up the way the majority is doing. Clothing trends that are acceptable here are polo shirts, button-down shirts or polo shorts etc.

Keep flats for your footwear which may include flip flops or sneakers.


Local customs and etiquette

A few things to consider at this place are as follows.

1.    Dress up properly.

2.    Do not take off your shoes.

3.    Don't touch someone’s head.

4.    Do not point your feet to Buddha images or at people.

5.    Do not speak bad of the royal family or the king.

6.    Do not display affection publicly.

7.    Be kind and respectful.
